ABOUT PENNY

 

I’ve been working in the nail and beauty industry for over 20 years, starting my journey alongside my mum. What began as hands-on salon experience quickly grew into a lifelong career built on skill, professionalism, and a genuine love for the industry. Over the years, I’ve continued to train, develop, and push myself to grow as a beauty & nail professional and now as an educator.

I understand how challenging it can feel when you’re learning new techniques and trying to build confidence in your work, because I’ve been there myself. That experience shapes how I teach today. My approach is supportive, honest, and focused on helping students truly understand what they’re doing, not just following steps. I love sharing knowledge, refining techniques, and helping students feel confident in their abilities.

I’m incredibly passionate about delivering high-quality education and supporting nail professionals as they grow within the industry. That’s why I’m proud to be working with HONA — a brand that aligns with my values around safety, performance, and raising industry standards.

When I’m not in the salon or teaching, you’ll usually find me on the beach with my dog, Nala, walking and exploring the Cornish coast. I have 2 children now grown up, so I am now able to fully focus my time and energy on my career and teaching — continuing to grow, learn, and support others in the industry.

 


ABOUT THE VENUE

All training takes place in my newly refurbished room above my salon in Indian Queens, just a few minutes off the A30, making it easy to reach from across Cornwall and beyond. The space is light, calm, and professional — designed purely for learning.

To ensure every student gets the best possible experience, classes are kept small, with a maximum of 5 students. This allows plenty of hands-on support, clear demonstrations, and individual feedback throughout the day.

Tea and coffee are provided, and we’ll take a short break during the course. There’s a Co-op next door, & an M&S & Mc Donalds a 5-minute drive away. Street parking is available outside the salon, with additional parking available on the estate behind.

The training room is upstairs with no lift access. If this may be an issue, please let me know in advance so that alternative arrangements can be made.

You’ll be learning in a relaxed, supportive environment where questions are encouraged, confidence is built, and skills are developed properly — setting you up for real salon success.
